OFFICIAL: Juventus Sack Claudio Ranieri, Ciro Ferrara Takes Over

The club have officially confirmed that they have ousted Claudio Ranieri and replaced him with Ciro Ferarra.

A statement on their official website reads:

"Ciro Ferrara is the new Juventus coach. Juventus would like to communicate that they have sacked Claudio Ranieri.

"From today, the first team will be handed over, and guided by Ciro Ferrara. Juventus would like to thank Claudio Ranieri for the work he has done in these two years.

"We would like to wish new coach Ciro Ferrara well for immediate success."

A press conference with Ferrara will follow at 1815 CET.

The news follows a day of talks between Jean-Claude Blanc and Alessio Secco. Former club legend Ciro Ferrara had been hotly tipped to come in and it has now happened.

After suggestions of leading the team for its final two matches, updates from Turin imply that he could also be made coach for the whole of next season, but this has not been confirmed just yet. All will be revealed during this evening's press conference. Goal.com

Inter Set Sights On Manchester United Star Nemanja Vidic – Report

Inter celebrated their fourth successive Scudetto at the weekend, with a comprehensive 3-0 demolition of Siena at the San Siro stadium.

Their 17th ever championship was the club’s first under Jose Mourinho, who has been at the club less than 12 months.

According to the latest reports, Mourinho and his coaching team have already commenced planning for next season, with Manchester United’s Nemanja Vidic among their chief transfer targets.

Studio Sport has revealed that the club’s technical director, Marco Branca, is eager to make a move for the Serbian international after the Champions League final in around ten days' time.

Neither club have yet commented on the reports, but the Italian champions will have the difficult task of having to come up with the funds required in order to get their man. Goal.com
